A. Notice the ______________ between the two.(difference)

One is considered _________. The other is considered ___________.(wise, unwise)

To be wise is to be marked by deep ___________________, keen __________________, and a capacity for ____________ __________________. It’s to have the inside scoop or to be “in-the-know.”(understanding, discernment, sound judgment)

b. Notice the ______________ of the one and the _________ of the other.(diligence, neglect)

One builder plans to build a house. He _____ down ________ in order to reach bedrock. He lays his foundation on that __________. He proceeds to build. He accomplished his plan.(digs, deep, bedrock)

The other builder plans to build a house. He decides to build on the ________. He develops it ___________. He accomplished his plan.(sand, quickly)

II. The ____________ the two builders experience. (conflict)

Wise house – beat on, but not shaken / unwise house – fell immediately / great ruin

The storms came onto both houses. Neither was ____________.(exempt)

III. The ____________ behind the two builders’ story.(concept)

House - represents our ________. This is where we place our ____________ and ______________.(lives, energies, affections)

People build their lives on different things. What could these be?

Foundation - is about ____________ and _______________. It corresponds to what a person does with Jesus’ claims and his teachings.(substance, appearance)

Here’s what Jesus tells us – following him is not just a matter of saying ______________ __________. It means committing yourself to living your life ______ _________.(religious words, His way)

This means to _________ your life in the Son’s hands and __________ in His accomplished work on the Cross in order to be reconciled to the Father.(place, trust)

Being in His hands is to be under His _____________. Trusting in His accomplished work is to live by __________ in Him and in ______________ toward Him.(authority, faith, gratitude)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? – Romans 8:35

How differrent this verse would be if I replace “the love of Christ” with “the love of ________?” The words of Paul take on a totally different meaning because it is a love "affection" that is not secure.(sports? popularity? girlfriend? boyfriend?)

Storms – Streams broke, flood arouse, rains fell, wind blew.
The storms speak of the _______ of _____________, or else of _____________ and _________ of life in general.(Day, Judgment, afflictions, trials)

Whether storms reflect judgment or hard circumstance one thing is for sure, the storms are _____________.(coming)
